Reporting to the Detail Manager, this role is key in contributing to the elite reputation of Rebar Enterprises.  Responsible for preparing the fabrication/shop drawings of steel reinforcement for construction projects, it requires sound interpretation of information in the structural engineers' drawings and developing a concept design, making it dimensionally correct and coordinated, describing all the main components of the building and how they fit together.  You are part of a project team with independent responsibilities and accountable to meet project timelines.

You will:

​

• Prepare detailed technical plans, drawings and list of materials for reinforcing steel fabrication and placement, and the manufacture and erection of steel members (columns, beams, braces, trusses, stairs, handrails, joists, metal decking, etc.)

• Create, modify and review drawings throughout each stage of the scope of work and identify/track when changes occur

• Prepare all plans as per the structural, architectural drawings, industry and company standards, using Rebar CAD 

• Work within project timelines and ensure they are met

• Communicate with customers through detailed notes, phone conversations or emails regarding drawings 

• Perform other roles and projects as assigned

Requirements

​

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or college of diploma in related field

• Minimum 2+ years of experience with drafting or detailing

• Experience with rebar and reinforced concrete structures

• Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Revit (preferred)

• Excellent English written and verbal communications skills

• Strong creativity and planning skills 

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a “Can do” attitude

• A strong work ethic to see things to completion 

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment 

• Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team required
